Welcome to our “DARUBINI” quarterly briefing on justice and human rights in natural resource governance. We recognize the importance of sharing information about the benefits and drawbacks of natural resources and the human rights issues tied to their management. Additionally, we understand the significance of exploring how access to justice can be realized in the context of natural resources governance.
International Peace Information Service (IPIS), Avocats Sans Frontières (ASF), Business Human Rights Tanzania (BHRT), and HakiRasilimali, with support from the Belgian Development Cooperation (DGD), are implementing a project on “Empowering Tanzanian communities and civil society organizations to engage government and industry in fostering access to justice, good governance and human rights in natural resource governance”. One of the projects’ primary objectives is to gather and disseminate information about justice, human rights, and natural resource governance, often inaccessible to various stakeholders. Through our quarterly updates, we aim to inform these stakeholders and drive positive change toward the management of natural resources. Our ultimate goal is to influence policy changes, contribute to evidence-based research, and showcase innovative and replicable approaches within the natural resource sector.
By shedding light on the intricacies and complexities of natural resource governance, we seek to bridge the gap and remove the veil surrounding this crucial topic. Join us in our efforts to bring transparency, knowledge, and understanding to the forefront of natural resource management. Together, we can make a difference.
