Nicomedes Kajungu holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Witwatersrand University – South Africa; in March 2007, he obtained Labour Laws training at the Labour College in Mbeya, Tanzania. In September 2018, he was awarded a certificate in Natural Resource Governance from Summer School in Accra, Ghana. From 1st October 2011 to date, Mr Kajungu has sat as a General Secretary for the National Union of Mine and Energy Workers of Tanzania (NUMET).

On October 2016-October 2019, he was elected as an alternative member of the Tanzania Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative Committee (TEITI-MSG). On October 2019, he was elected as a Principal member of the Tanzania Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative Committee (TEITI-MSG). In July 2022 to date, Mr Kajungu was elected as a Board Member of HakiRasilimali.
