Ms Joyce Komanya is an advocate working with the Legal and Human Rights Centre (LHRC), a leading human rights organisation in Tanzania. She joined LHRC in 2017 and has been a staunch activist of Human rights and Business, specifically in corporate compliance with human rights and environmental standards, since she completed her Bachelor of Law degree in 2014.
Before joining LHRC, she worked with the Women’s Legal Aid Centre (WLAC), a non-profit NGO that empowers women to attain their rights and improve vulnerable populations’ access to justice across Tanzania. Since joining LHRC, she has been researching and writing on issues of Legal and human rights issues.
She is the co-author of the Tanzania Human Rights Report 2017, Tanzania Human Rights Report 2018, Human Rights and Business Report 2017 and Human Rights and Business Report 2018/2019. She also advocates for Legal and Human rights through various campaigns conducted by LHRC in Tanzania Mainland, media programs and dialogues.
