Francis Moses Mkasiwa is a Research and Policy Officer at HakiRasilimali, a leading organization advocating for transparency and accountability in Tanzania’s extractive sectors. Since joining HakiRasilimali in 2019, Francis has specialized in research and policy analysis, focusing on governance in the mining, oil, and gas sectors.
Francis holds a Master of Science in Natural Resources Assessment and Management from the University of Dar es Salaam’s Institute of Resources Assessment (IRA) and has completed an advanced course on Natural Resource Governance and Energy Transition: Policies and Practice at ETH NADEL Centre for Development and Cooperation.
With over six years of experience, Francis has successfully conducted research, led policy analysis, spearheaded advocacy campaigns, facilitated stakeholder engagements, and managed projects, all aimed at fostering transparency, accountability, and sustainability in Tanzania’s extractive industries.
Francis is deeply committed to driving policy reforms that promote equitable resource governance while championing sustainable energy transitions to address global climate change challenges. His work continues to contribute to a more just and transparent extractive sector for the benefit of all Tanzanians.
