About the Programme
ESKi Tanzania is a capacity development programme designed to nurture and empower the next generation of leaders, community advocates, and professionals working in the governance of the mining, oil, and gas sectors. The programme aims to strengthen citizens' voices in improving the policies, laws, and practices that govern the extractive industries in Tanzania.
The programme targets emerging leaders and professionals with basic knowledge and limited experience in the governance of the mining, oil, and gas sectors. It seeks to equip participants with essential knowledge, practical skills, and tools to enhance their engagement with industry leaders, policymakers, and other key stakeholders on the governance and management of Tanzania's extractive sector.
Programme Content
Participants will receive training on:
1) Fundamentals of the mining, oil, and gas sectors
2) Extractive sector governance and transparency
3) Revenue management
4) Human rights impacts in the extractive industries
5) Environmental management and climate change
6) Gender dimensions in the extractive sector
7) Critical minerals and the energy transition
Programme Fee
Participation in the programme is free of charge. No tuition or registration fee will be required.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants should:
1) Have a basic understanding of the mining, oil, and gas sectors.
2) Have at least six (6) months of experience in mining, oil, and gas, including governance, environmental management, community development, or other related fields.
3) Be able to communicate effectively in either English or Kiswahili, both spoken and written.
4) Be available to attend the entire programme and complete all training sessions.
5) Be affiliated with a workplace, organization, institution, or community initiative related to the mining, oil, and gas sectors where they can apply the knowledge and skills gained from the programme.
Programme Venue and Duration
The programme will be held in Dodoma, Tanzania, and will run for five consecutive days from 10–14 September 2026.
Required Application Documents
Applicants must attach the following documents:
1) A one-page Motivational Letter explaining their interest in participating in the programme.
2) A Curriculum Vitae (CV) of no more than two pages, highlighting relevant experience in the mining, oil, gas, or energy sectors.
3) A copy of a National Identification Card (NIDA) or any other valid identification document.
4) A Recommendation Letter.
