HakiRasilimali is pleased to announce to the public  that  on 9th and 10th September 2019, CSO working in the extractive sector were able to undertake election/ nomination process  for their representatives in the 4th TEITI Multi-Stakeholder Group to serve in the period of 2019-2022. The CSO election process was guided by the Tanzania Extractive Industries (Transparency and Accountability) Act, 2015, subject to section 5(4).Also, as mandated by the Law, the names of the TEITI Multi-stakeholder group has been officially gazetted  by the Minister of Minerals under the Government newspaper 'Daily News on 13th February 2020.

NB: The Tanzania Extractive Industries (Transparency and Accountability) Act of 2015 requires for the establishment of the Tanzania Extractive Industries (Transparency and Accountability) Initiative that shall establish a committee that shall be known as the Tanzania Extractive Industries (Transparency and Accountability) Committee. The committee shall consist of five (5) representatives each from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Extractive companies and the government. And that , the Committee  shall be an independent Government entity which shall be an oversight body for promoting and enhancing transparency and accountability in the extractive industry.
